Italy's Sara Errani claimed her place in the final of the Slovenia Open at the expense of third seed Caroline Wozniacki on Saturday.

In a match which saw both players waste a string of break points, eighth-seeded Errani had the edge over her Danish opponent, battling to a 6-4 6-4 victory in one hour and 42 minutes.

Errani will now face fourth-seeded Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues in Sunday's final.

Garrigues was also made to work hard in her semi-final, eventually overcoming Julia Goerges of Germany 6-3 2-6 6-4.
