Cipriani: Players must be disciplined
Danny Cipriani insists players must take responsibility for their own conduct as England continue to address the fallout from their controversial tour to New Zealand.
An allegation of serious sexual assault was made against four unnamed players after a group of girls returned to the team hotel in Auckland and although the complaint was not official, the Rugby Football Union are conducting an investigation.
"There should be some sort of guidelines and that's what Martin Johnson and the RFU are looking at right now," said Cipriani, speaking generally and not about any particular incident.
He added: "But ultimately every professional should act responsibly and disciplined. That's what all sportsmen should abide by.
"The profile of rugby is growing all the time so there is a responsibility for us to conduct ourselves in a certain way.
"We're role models and if we can put that to good use then that's important."
