Clint Greenshields will be the only Australian to play for France in the Gillette Four Nations series after Casey McGuire joined Adam Mogg in pulling out of the squad.

All three players succeeded in their plea for eligibility after spending the past three seasons in the south of France playing for Catalans Dragons.

Mogg subsequently declined the invitation for personal reasons and now McGuire has told the French management that he needs rest after "an exhausting Super League season".

The Catalans enjoyed an extended campaign after reaching the play-offs and went within 80 minutes of a maiden Grand Final appearance.

The selectors were also turned down by former Catalans and Harlequins hooker or half-back Julien Rinaldi, now player-coach of Villeneuve, who was not included in coach Bobbie Goulding's trimmed-down 23-man squad and has turned down a late invitation.

"I've served them for the moment," he said. "I haven't closed the door but I prefer to concentrate on my club."

The rejections leave Goulding with a 22-man squad preparing for next Friday's opening match against England at Doncaster.

Squad (Catalans unless stated): Greenshields, Pelo, Bosc, Raguin, Moly (Carcassonne), Sadaoui (Carcassonne), Greseque (Pia), Duport, Vaccari (UTC), Stacul, Villegas (Toulouse), K Bentley, Elima (captain), Ferriol, Fakir, Gossard, Baile, Casty, Martins, Touxagas, Gagliazzo (Carcassonne), Griffi (Toulouse).
