Injury nightmare for Wolves

Warrington Wolves have confirmed that full-back Stuart Reardon will miss the rest of the season and coach Paul Cullen also expressed his fears over a knee injury to centre Paul Johnson.

Reardon, who hobbled off just six minutes into Saturday's 40-34 Carnegie Challenge Cup fifth-round defeat to St Helens, has been told by a specialist that he will need a full reconstruction of his Achilles tendon.

Johnson left the field in the second half with suspected knee ligament damage and is to see a specialist on Monday, with Cullen admitting the injury "could be a very serious one".

Reardon is the second Warrington player to sustain a ruptured Achilles after stand-off Chris Bridge suffered the season-ending injury in only the second match of the year.

Winger Chris Riley, meanwhile, is doubtful for Friday's engage Super League match at Wigan after sustaining ankle ligament damage.
