Prop forward Craig Huby, Castleford's longest-serving player, has agreed a three-year extension to his contact which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2011 season.

Huby, 21, who made his senior debut just weeks after his 17th birthday in 2003, chalked up his 90th appearance for the club during the Millennium Magic weekend.

"We have had some disappointments this season but I feel that the club's future is very bright and, as a local lad, I want to be part of it," he said.

Castleford recently secured the long-term futures of Joe Westerman and Ryan McGoldrick, and coach Terry Matterson is delighted to tie up Huby for another three years.

"We feel that we have laid a platform with him and that his best rugby is in front of him," he said.
