Zacinto 'very well' - Moore
Ryan Moore had his first taste of the Santa Anita track since his victory on Conduit last year as he partnered Breeders' Cup Mile hope Zacinto in a gentle workout.
Just days after being crowned champion jockey in the UK for a third time, Moore was in the plate as Zacinto worked with stablemates and Breeders' Cup Turf hopes Conduit and Spanish Moon.
"Zacinto worked on the turf course ahead of the Mile and he seems very well," he said. "I've not sat on Conduit yet but he looks well and is in good order, and Spanish Moon has been improving all year and is a tough horse."
Jeremy Noseda reports his three Breeders' Cup challengers to have arrived on American soil in fine form ahead of their respective targets.
July Cup heroine Fleeting Spirit is set to take her chance in the Breeders' Cup Sprint, while Strike The Deal runs in the Turf Sprint and Awesome Act has the Juvenile Turf as his target.
"The three of them just had a canter. They had a quiet time, but all went smoothly," said Noseda. "Fleeting Spirit was out on the Pro-Ride, but has been training on the Polytrack all year.
"They've all travelled over well and seem in good form. They'll do no more than canter this week and will have one visit down to the starting gate and go through the stalls as a practice for the weekend."
Brian Meehan is delighted with the condition of 2006 Turf winner Red Rocks, who bids for a repeat, and his Juvenile challenger Radiohead.
The trainer led out his two hopes on horseback, and said: "It all went well. They did some light work on the main track and they don't need to do a lot. Martin Dwyer will ride Radiohead and we're hoping to get Julien Leparoux to ride Red Rocks.
"The Cumberland Lodge will have put Red Rocks straight as he needed the run. He was very heavy that day and was carrying condition. He blew up in the closing stages and if he hadn't, I think he would have bolted up. He's coming here a fresh horse."
