Plata drawn wide in France
Godolphin are concerned by the draw for Rio De La Plata in the French 2000 Guineas at Longchamp on Sunday.
The Rahy colt won the Prix Jean-Luc Lagadere at the track on Arc day but will have to overcome stall 16 in the Classic.
"We're expecting a good run from him but he's got a shocking draw," said Simon Crisford, Godolphin's racing manager, told Channel 4 Racing.
"He's very solid, very honest, tries his best and he's got a great turn of foot and we'll know on Sunday how he did over the winter. He's developed physically very well and we are just very pleased with him, we hope he runs well."
Kerrin McEvoy has been rerouted from the Italian Derby to ride Il Warrd, Godolphin's second-string in the race. It will be his first run for the stable since his transfer from Marcus Tregoning's yard, for whom he won the Easter Stakes on his first start this season.
"I'm excited to be riding Il Warrd in the French 2000 Guineas," McEvoy told Teletext.
"I was due to ride in the Italian Derby but my intended mount for Godolphin doesn't run so I'm now going to France. He started the season well by winning at Kempton. I've ridden him at home and he gives me a nice feel but obviously this is going to be his big test against horses like Rio De La Plata."
Thewayyouare has also been handed a troublesome draw in stall 15 and Herve Barjot, racing manager to owner Sean Mulryan, said: "It is a big field and it is not a good draw for a race like the Guineas.
"The horse is fine - he's ready to go - but the only bad news we have had came with the draw. He had the perfect season last year and we think he is very nice. Andre Fabre has done a great job with him getting him ready for Sunday but it really depends which way the field will go.
"His breeding suggests he will get further than a mile and the plan is definitely to go for a Derby, but which one we will decide after Sunday. His form was boosted by Centennial so we hope he runs a good race."
