Jeremy Noseda believes it will be about three weeks before his below-par Newmarket stable is back firing on all cylinders.

Having shut up shop since the second day of Royal Ascot, Noseda may test the water on Sunday as he has given the three-year-old filly Gulch's Rose an entry in the Barking Brickworks Maiden Stakes at Brighton.

The trainer told his website: "We've entered a runner for Sunday but I still think it will be a further two weeks before we are fully back into the normal routine."

He added: "Unfortunately, the yard was laid low just before Royal Ascot and subsequent tests were unable to specify the reason. Following our runners on the first two days, it was clearly apparent the horses were below par.

"Therefore, we took the decision to withdraw the rest of our Ascot team and take a little bit of time to reassess the whole situation in the yard. I believe the signs are positive now and feel the bulk of the string is ready to return into full training."
