Koumei Oda and Jun Kikuchi lead the SEGA Sammy Cup on seven under par after the opening round.
Both players dominated on the 7,078-yard lay-out, firing eight birdies against one bogey to claim a narrow one-shot lead over Toru Taniguchi.
A group of eight players - including Indian star Jeev Milkha Singh - are one stroke further back.
