Ebanks-Blakes: I'd rather be in the play-offs
Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake insists he would "gladly swap" his Golden Boot for place in this season's play-offs.
Sunday's 1-0 victory over Ebanks-Blake's former club, Plymouth, was not enough to earn Wanderers a place in the top six as their season ended on a disappointing low note.
Mick McCarthy's side finished level on points with sixth-placed Watford but needed a further two goals to clinch a play-off berth.
It was a disappointing end to a successful campaign for the striker, who netted 23 league goals for the term, however he is confident a bright future lies ahead at Molineux.
"On a personal level to win the Golden Boot is very pleasing especially when I have finished ahead of some very good seasoned strikers like Kevin Phillips, James Beattie and Stern John," he told the club's official website. "But I would gladly swap all of my goals for a place in the play-offs or promotion.
He added: "We all felt bitterly disappointed after the game. It was always going to be difficult but, on a positive note, we have a very young squad that will be another year wiser next May and that can only be good. The squad can grow up together and I find that quite exciting. I think we have a massive chance next season
