Boothroyd admits play-off relief
Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd was relieved after his side scraped into the Championship play-offs by the narrowest of margins.
A 1-1 draw at Blackpool took the Hornets to 70 points but Wolves' 1-0 win over Plymouth also took Mick McCarthy's side to the same total.
Watford - who played the final 30 minutes at Bloomfield Road with 10 men after striker Darius Henderson was sent off - finished sixth by virtue of their superior goal difference on Wolves of just one goal.
They now face a two-legged play-off semi-final against Hull and Boothroyd said: "It's a huge relief because you look at a lot of relegated clubs who came down in the last three or four years.
"Birmingham and Sunderland bounced straight back - and that's an amazing credit to them - but there are a lot of bigger clubs than us who have come down, lost their momentum and ended up going down even further.
"We've got in by one goal and given ourselves a chance of reaching the goal we set out at the start of the season."
