Reserves lift Challenge Cup

Sunderland Reserves have beaten Gateshead at the Stadium of Light to win the Durham Challenge Cup for the first time in over 40 years.

Billy Dennehy and David Dowson did the damage against the part-timers, scoring in each half of an open game on Tuesday night.

Sunderland's cup journey started back in September against Willington and they have also beaten Jarrow Roofing, Wolviston, Norton & Stockton Ancients and Horden CW on the way to the final.
