Stockport thrash Terrors

There was never a hint of a Cup shock at Edgeley Park as Stockport eased past their Ryman Premier League opponents 5-0.

Stockport dominated the first half and already had the tie wrapped up by the interval.

Peter Thompson scored first in the 13th minute when he pounced from close range after Dave King could only parry Paul Turnbull's initial shot.

Seven minutes later it was 2-0 when Michael Rose played in David Poole and he shot home from an acute angle, before Carl Baker then scored his 11th goal of the season from the spot with 37 minutes gone.

Stockport grabbed their fourth goal midway through the second period when Turnbull hit home a rebound after King couldn't hold onto Poole's shot.

And four minutes later Turnbull struck again after being expertly teed up by Baker.
