Laws still waiting on finances

Manager Brian Laws faces an anxious wait to learn how much cash he will have to strengthen his Sheffield Wednesday team in the summer.

Laws' side secured Championship survival with a last-day win over Norwich against the backdrop of uncertainty surrounding protracted takeover talks with two separate consortia.

Asked for his views on a possible takeover, Laws said: "That's for the powers that be. We've got to sit down now and regroup. We'll dismantle everything we've gone through and we'll analyse everything we've done this year, rightly or wrongly. Various mistakes have been made.

"We hope to rectify them, put them right and regroup. But it's all about finances in the end. That will dictate how we go about things next season.

"I've no idea what it will be, if there is a takeover. Until somebody tells me differently and as far as I'm concerned, we'll carry on as normal as we have done for the last six months."
