Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins is expected to confirm which players the club will be releasing by the end of the week.

All of the Iron's six on-loan players - Jack Cork (Chelsea), Jack Hobbs (Liverpool), Geoff Horsfield, Mamadou Seck (both Sheffield United), Curtis Weston and Tomi Ameobi (both Leeds) - will return to their parent clubs.

Adkins is currently in talks with defenders Marcus Williams and Andy Butler, whose current deals are set to expire, but out-of-contract players Jim Goodwin, Andrew Wright, Alex Morfaw and Joe Wilcox face anxious waits.

Joint assistant manager Ian Baraclough's playing contract will also expire in the summer.
