Hearts fail to beat Hibs

Hearts' impotent attack let them down once again as the first Edinburgh derby of the season ended 0-0 at Tynecastle.

The goal-shy Jambos dominated much of their Clydesdale Bank Premier League game with arch-rivals Hibernian but were unable to seriously test Graham Stack.

They almost paid the ultimate price, as goalkeeper Janos Balogh tipped David Wotherspoon's drive onto the post and also had to be alert to deny substitute Derek Riordan.

Christian Nade went close for Hearts early on, while Ian Black also flashed an effort over as the home side impressed.

Anthony Stokes failed to get good contact on a Colin Nish flick-on for Hibs, while Wotherspoon also went close with a stinging drive that slammed against the upright.

Gary Glen shot over the bar two minutes from the end for Hearts and fired too close to Graham Stack in stoppage-time.
