Jewell set to open talks

Paul Jewell is to hold talks with every Derby player over the next 10 days to discuss their future at the club.

There is set to be a lot of movement around Pride Park this summer following relegation as Jewell looks to build a squad that will challenge for an instant return to the Barclays Premier League.

"I'm going to be sitting down with every player between now and the end of next week and discussing their future. I want to tell them exactly the plans I've got, or the plans I haven't got," said Jewell.

A number of players have been out on loan but the Rams boss refused to speculate.

"It's not really right for me to comment on speculation," he said.

"We could be here all day talking about players who are linked with us or our players being linked with other clubs. I'm not going to speak about any player coming to the football club or leaving the football club until it is 100% certain."
