Neil Warnock insists there is no secret to his success in the play-offs as he gears up for Crystal Palace's two-legged semi-final showdown with Bristol City.

Warnock has never lost a play-off semi in a career which has seen him win six promotions with Notts County, Plymouth, Huddersfield, Scarborough and Sheffield United.

His only blip in the play-offs came with a defeat in the Championship final by Wolves in Cardiff five years ago.

He said: "I've never lost at Wembley. I've taken teams who finished 18 points clear and won and took teams that snuck in on the last day and won - so there is no formula.

"You don't have to win the first game and over the two games the best team normally wins."
