Powell determined to play on

Chris Powell has revealed he has no intention of hanging up his boots even if he has to leave Charlton.

The former England defender, 38, scored on what looks set to be his final appearance for the Addicks, against Coventry on Sunday.

But Powell, who has enjoyed three spells with the south-east London club, refused to rule out returning for a fourth in some capacity.

"I don't think the club is in position to keep me here due to certain financial reasons," he said.

"Retirement is not on the agenda for me but it looks as if I will have to move on - again. But, as everyone knows, I always end up coming back.

"If I do move on, I would never rule out coming to Charlton for a fourth time, and maybe even one day being a coach or manager at the club I love."
