Enckelman may make Bluebirds switch

Forgotten Blackburn goalkeeper Peter Enckelman has hinted at a permanent move to Cardiff after impressing for the Bluebirds since moving to Ninian Park on loan in January.

The former Aston Villa shot-stopper, 31, has enjoyed an upturn in fortunes during his time in Wales after finding first-team action elusive following his switch to Ewood Park in January 2004.

The Finn, who is looking forward to an FA Cup Final appearance later this month, told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "Cardiff gave me the chance to kick-start my career.

"There were moments when I found it difficult to motivate myself when I knew I would not be in the matchday 16 at Blackburn. Maybe I needed a new challenge - and that was provided by Cardiff."

On the possibility of a long-term deal with Dave Jones' side he added: "I am focused on playing football and leave all contract details to my agent.

"He will let me know when there is something certain, but right now I am concentrating on preparing for the FA Cup final."
