Quartet offered new deals

Burnley are hoping to keep four key players after manager Owen Coyle offered them new contracts at Turf Moor.

Veteran defender David Unsworth, James O'Connor, Jon Harley and Jay Rodriguez have all been offered renewed contracts, with Unsworth set to take up a player/coach role.

The four follow goalkeeper Brian Jensen in being offered a deal, while John Spicer has been released and Gabor Kiraly put up for sale.

Coyle is also keen to bring striker Andy Cole, whose Sunderland contract expires in the summer, to the club on a permanent basis.

"Andrew goes back to Sunderland and if they decide not to offer him anything, then obviously we'll have a chat," said Coyle.
