Tykes youngsters set to feature

Barnsley manager Simon Davey is expected to include a handful of youngsters in his squad to face Cardiff as he is without a host of first-team regulars.

The Tykes, who secured their Championship status last week with a 3-0 win over Charlton, will be looking for revenge against the Bluebirds after their 1-0 FA Cup semi-final defeat last month.

Captain Brian Howard (ankle), defender Stephen Foster (calf), winger Martin Devaney (thigh) and striker Kayode Odejayi (ankle) are ruled out, but Jamal Campbell-Ryce trained on Friday after an ankle injury.

Davey has already revealed Jacob Butterfield could be given a starting berth and he may be joined by fellow youngsters Jamil Adam and Luke Potter.

Daniel Nardiello, Lewin Nyatanga and Luke Steele play the last matches of their loan spells but there are deals in place for the latter two to join on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
