Reid back with Tykes

Paul Reid's loan spell at hometown club Carlisle has been cut short through injury.

The former Barnsley skipper, who began his career as a trainee with The Cumbrians, returned to Brunton Park at the end of March.

But an ankle ligament injury restricted the 26-year-old to just one appearance for John Ward's side and he will not be ready to feature in the two-legged play-off semi-final against Leeds.

Meanwhile, Barnsley have released Rhys Meynell and goalkeeper Kyle Letheren.

Meynell, an Oakwell Academy graduate, has been on loan at Scottish club Gretna since February, while Letheren's only first-team appearance this season was as a substitute in the FA Cup third-round tie with Blackpool after Heinz Muller was injured.
